They hear us, but they can’t understand what we are going through. It isn’t that they don’t want to help, it’s that they don’t know how to help.
Finally, we realize that we are not alone. There are other people right here, many of whom are experiencing the same problems, and who want to help. When we talk to each other, we do listen, and we do understand.
Friends helping each other understand what is contributing to our pain, and helping one another learn ways to live each day to the best of our potential. We learn to understand that while we may never be completely free of our pain, we can take charge of our pain, and not let the pain take charge of us.
