Hope all had and are having a good thanksgiving in the states. I thought I'd share something with you all on "Family". My two sons and I brought my wife Nancy to her sister's house for all of us to celebrate Thanksgiving. Nancy has 3 brothers and 4 sisters. Four were there along with Nancy. I had talked to them a few weeks ago about Nancy's dementia progressing and I wasn't sure how much time she had left at home. So today was special in so many ways. The joy Nancy experienced with her siblings decreased her dementia greatly and she had a "Good" day. Sometimes the best cure for what ails you is a transfusion of family.

I am glad you had a great thanksgiving. And I am so delighted to hear how much seeing and spending time with her siblings helped Nancy with her affliction. Family is what it is all about...Edie

Thanks for sharing this Dick. I'm so glad you and Nancy were able to attend a family get together. And that it was enjoyable for everyone. I hope that the coming holidays are just as positive and enjoyable for you and your family.

I think of you and Nancy often, I always hope you're pain free and smiling.

What a beautiful Thanksgiving story, Dick!!! I'm so very happy that the day was a great one for Nancy, you, your boys and your family. These are the memories to cherish.

I hope all of our US friends had a good day. It's been a rough time for many and the election really created so much stress in our lives, so happy times on a special Holiday mean so much.

We spent the day with my 95 year old Mom at the facility where she lives and the dinner and time together was special. Today, I'm cooking a bird and the trimmings for us because who doesn't want yummy leftovers all weekend???

Sending love to all. May this Holiday Season be one filled with family, friends, peace and joy!!

Please donate to help Chronicpainsite.com continue to help others.

My journey with chronic pain began over 30 years ago, while as a young nurse working spinal rehab, I injured my back lifting a patient. I am now fused from L2-S1. I have multiple thoracic and cervical issues. I'm a retired RN/PA and I know and understand the frustrations on both ends of the treatment spectrum of dealing with CP. It's been my goal since 2008, when we started this site, to reach out and help as many people in pain as possible. We will continue the fight as long as we can. Please, if you can help us continue to help you and others, donate. Thank you.

HI Dick. that was just what Nancy needed! it is so awesome when our loved ones have moments of clarity and can enjoy life.

My husband and I were both ill over thanksgiving and the weekend. We stayed in and each of us slept in late, watched tv and slept, we also ate junk.(which we didnt need but didnt feel like cooking!)
