What is the best topical cream for nerve pain? I have a bulging disc which puts pressure on my sciatic nerve.

Hi Mopar,

I know several people who have great results from topical creams infused with cannabis or cannabis concentrates, including me. I’ve been making my own for a few years and it helps me as much as anything the doctor ever gave me. I don’t know what’s available in your area, however the most basic topical can be made by simmering cannabis in an oil, then straining. If concentrates are available to you, you can simply warm up some carrier oil, coconut is a good one, and add the concentrate.

I'd rather just buy something for the time being.

Depending on your location, it’s hard to find. Not sure if you have any dispensaries near you, that’s an option for some.

The best thing to help you if you can’t or won’t use marijuana would be a Lidocaine patch. You may be able to find them now OTC at the drug store, but best bet is to get an RX from your Dr. IMO, you are throwing your money away on the other creams and ointments out there.

My journey with chronic pain began over 30 years ago, while as a young nurse working spinal rehab, I injured my back lifting a patient. I am now fused from L2-S1. I have multiple thoracic and cervical issues. I'm a retired RN/PA and I know and understand the frustrations on both ends of the treatment spectrum of dealing with CP. It's been my goal since 2008, when we started this site, to reach out and help as many people in pain as possible. We will continue the fight as long as we can. Please, if you can help us continue to help you and others, donate. Thank you.
