Just want our newer members to see what it is, that we all like about " our great forum here"

no drama, or rude comments
I love the members,
everyone is compassionate and understanding about how we all feel.
I could go on and on but will give others a chance to add.

I love this place. It's the first and only place I ever felt comfortable enough to actually say anything. People are kind, there are no nasty comments or sarcastic responses like I saw on the few other places I looked at. There is such a huge knowledge base here. I've learned so much and can now make more informed choices about treatment and medication choices. People understand, they get it and actually care about each other.

I could keep going the same as Rose, but I'll let others get some comments in. Can you tell I really love this place?

1st injured Feb, 1997. Was told it was "Soft Tissue" and sent back to work - no X-rays
Late 1997 attended 1st Rehab Program to strengthen back. Mid 98 PCP took me off work. Tried going back to work over the next couple years, mostly off work due to pain.
June 2000, met with OS for first time. Did MRI , damage was L5-S1 totally blown out. Surgery done Jan, 2001.
Another Rehab program late 2001, attempted to go back to work early 2002. Slipped on water, fell flat on back screw fusion broke.
Went to 3rd Rehab program summer 2002.
Oct 2003 - 2nd Surgery, due to broken screw, had to operate from the front.
No improvement. Attended 4th Rehab program in 2004, at time It was decided NO work.
March 2006, had 3rd Surgery, this time fusion and instrumentation from Si to L3.
June 2008 Surgeon finally admitted I had Failed Back Surgery.

Another thing is the total acceptance of us as individuals - it seems most people have some kind of unique role in support, understand, information, advice, humour and understanding how CP has often destroyed the world we once had

We have terms - we get it - I get it - I see you - I hear you - I understand

We have our stories - where would we be without our stories - sometimes our story is all we have - and we live our lives here - we become more than a group of people who like each other and have certain things - pain and loss - in common

We understand each other - love each other, respect each other

And where would we be without each other

First of all, thank you Rose for starting this thread.

John and I set out to have a website that would be a place of education, information and support for anyone suffering with any type of chronic pain.  Also, a place where people are accepted and welcomed and not judged.

It's all of you, the members here who have made this site what it is.  So I know I can speak for John when I say that we thank YOU all from the bottom of our hearts.  Heart

Please donate to help Chronicpainsite.com continue to help others.

My journey with chronic pain began over 30 years ago, while as a young nurse working spinal rehab, I injured my back lifting a patient. I am now fused from L2-S1. I have multiple thoracic and cervical issues. I'm a retired RN/PA and I know and understand the frustrations on both ends of the treatment spectrum of dealing with CP. It's been my goal since 2008, when we started this site, to reach out and help as many people in pain as possible. We will continue the fight as long as we can. Please, if you can help us continue to help you and others, donate. Thank you.

This is true, without the board and all the members we would not be able to talk freely about our pain. I for one love it here. No members = no board

It's true. w/o any of us and Stevie and John there would be no site.
I think it's great that we can talk about intimate things with our pain
all the way to venting on the site. We all show respect to each other.

Roni

I did start on here as my pain? Was going doolally!!

Ive met a load of great and lovely people on here and also they let me whine about myself then give me verbal hugs!!

Ive not forgotten about some replies which mean huge amounts to me, just wish could repay them all for them!

I love how we all share our experiences in pain or life in general.

I hope some of our newer members would share here too.

I like this site because everyone is so understanding . I also like the site for the  fact that the cps support people , admins  and many others know there stuff when it comes to medical queries so they can give really good sound advice . And last but not least I like this site because it stops me from feeling like I'm the only person with bilateral forminal stenosis , as no one ever seems to know what it is . Even the nurses at our local hospital haven't heard of it .

Thank you Rose.  That is very kind, and one of the things "I" like about here is to wake up and find such a thoughtful gesture.Hug

Thank you.

I like this site so much because of the community here.  Not just that everyone is so open and welcoming, but also that they don't judge you for not feeling your best.  They BELIEVE you when you say you're hurting.  And they understand what that means.  The other thing that I like is that someone else might have some pretty sound advice on treatment because they've been through it or something similar.  We've all experienced chronic pain and we know what it can do to a person every day.

I thank the gods for everyone here.  We've all found our way to this site.  We help each other and care about each other.  What more could you ask for?

Thank you everyone who have responded to this thread.  And, thank you Cindylou for starting it.

I know I can speak on behalf of John when I tell you that it has been our pleasure creating this place because you all give back so much, and that the work we do here helps untold numbers of people who feel lost and alone in daily struggles.  Keep posting and stay around even when you are feeling better.  Each and everyone of you has so much to offer.  You will never know how much you can do to make a difference in someones life---but trust me you can and you will.  Hug  Stevie
