I am not sure that everyone understands how and why we are here.  We started this website in July, 2008 as a limited liability corporation (LLC),  on personal funds and the time given by our Sysop, John Lug, who made this site into a home for us.  It continues to cost a lot of time, effort, energy and resources to maintain our site.

In April of 2011 we became a public charity non-profit 501 (c)(3),  which means the following:

A 501 (c)(3) is a type of company that is set up with the intent to provide a service to a community rather than making a profit.  We are educational in nature.

You will notice a "Donate button" now on the left hand menu and at the top of the page.  This is in order to generate public support. All donations are tax deductible. Here is more about donations: http://chronicpainsite.com/mb/Donate.asp

We are very sensitive to the fact that many of our members are unable to financially contribute, so please understand that this is here for those who are able to do so.

In addition, we now have the ability to seek grants, funding, and charitable contributions to support the day to day operations and expenses to maintain the site, and to continue to provide the best educational material possible for everyone suffering with chronic pain.

Here are the blunt facts.  We must satisfy the IRS that we get 40% of our donations from the public sector which are our members, or we stand to lose our status.  We are registered with Guide Star, which is the "Gold Standard" for Non-Profit Organizations.  We comply with all standards and file all paperwork.  Here is a link to Guide Star for anyone to see us: http://www2.guidestar.org/  Simply type in ChronicPainSite.com into the organization link and you will come up with all information about us that is public.

If anyone has any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.  Again, we thank you for your support as we cannot continue this site without your help.  Stevie

Please donate to help Chronicpainsite.com continue to help others.

My journey with chronic pain began over 30 years ago, while as a young nurse working spinal rehab, I injured my back lifting a patient. I am now fused from L2-S1. I have multiple thoracic and cervical issues. I'm a retired RN/PA and I know and understand the frustrations on both ends of the treatment spectrum of dealing with CP. It's been my goal since 2008, when we started this site, to reach out and help as many people in pain as possible. We will continue the fight as long as we can. Please, if you can help us continue to help you and others, donate. Thank you.

Happy 2014 to Everyone and thank you all for being a part of our fast growing Foundation, reaching out to provide help and support to thousands of people in chronic pain.

Please take time to read the post above,  that describes our Foundation and the importance and necessity of receiving donations from our membership.

As we continue to grow, our expenses also increase.  We recognize that many of you have donated in the past, and are requesting that this New Year be a plea to remember to donate again.

We have limited advertising on our site and no grants from any government or private corporations. But, we do have expenses----including Servers, programs, equipment and power. We survive on donations and no amount is too small. Please understand that all monies received go to expenses and fees associated in running the Foundation.  In fact, in order to continue operation, we continue to spend personal funds.

In the past year, we have provided a secure, safe, on-line pain journal free of charge to our membership.  We will continue to look for ways to help as many people as possible with your help this in this New Year.  Thank you.

Please donate to help Chronicpainsite.com continue to help others.

How does it work if I am in the UK?
After 3+ years of pain and an incorrect diagnosis of CRPS I was finally diagnosed with a Glomus tumor in my left thumb. This was surgically removed but it caused a great amount of deterioration of bone and other issues have arisen since.
